Stand alone HR Advisor
Base – West London UB6 – you will need to be able to drive to work to access the office – public transport is not easily accessed
Our client is a well-established Self-Storage and Property business that has been trading for over 60 years. It is a family run business where people are valued and pride is taken in their work. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled HR Advisor to support Senior Management with all HR matters, this is a stand alone role.
Purpose of the Role
This is a part time position working 25 hours per week over 5 days. When you carry out these hours will be negotiated so that this best suite the candidate and company. You will be based at the Head office in West London; however, the role may require some visits to at their multi-tenanted office building in Manchester, plus visits to the Self Storage branches located in London, Bath, and Bristol. The HR Advisor will play a key role in delivering high-quality, proactive HR support across the business. Working closely the Senior Management and local Branch Managers, this role will focus on ensuring HR processes and efficient, legally compliant and people focused. From managing new starter and leaver processes to supporting employee relations and learning and development coordination, the HR Advisor will help drive operational excellence.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide advice across all HR matters.
- Manage onboarding, changes to employment terms, and exit processes.
- Support local management with inductions.
- Consult with Payroll.
- Support probation and performance review processes.
- Assist managers in identifying training needs and sourcing solutions.
- Monitor absence levels.
- Support and upskill managers through coaching and training, building confidence in handling people issues.
- Coach managers through ER issues (grievance, disciplinary, capability, etc.)
- Assist with drafting and reviewing policies and procedures.
- Lead and support recruitment activities.
- Support with Learning and Development
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
- CIPD Level 5 preferred
- Strong HR experience within a multi-site operation
- Confident advising and coaching managers
- High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- Confident working independently and managing priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
