Executive Assistant to the Managing Director

Location: Hybrid – 1 day per week in Lancaster, remainder remote

Salary: Up to £60,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

The Role

They are seeking a highly organised, proactive and discreet Executive Assistant to support their Managing Director. This pivotal role will provide high-level executive and personal assistance, helping the MD operate effectively across strategic, operational and administrative areas.

As EA, you will be a trusted right-hand partner, coordinating complex, extensive schedules, preparing critical documentation, ensuring seamless communication and representing the MD with professionalism. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the MD’s diary, scheduling meetings, appointments and travel across UK and international locations.
  • Prepare and proofread reports, presentations, board papers and correspondence.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings, including agendas, minutes and follow-ups.
  • Act as a liaison between the MD and internal/external stakeholders.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive matters.
  • Support project tracking and ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
  • Manage inboxes and communication flow, prioritising urgent matters.
  • Conduct research and compile briefing documents.
  • Occasionally support personal arrangements for the MD as required.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, ideally supporting C-suite or Managing Directors.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • High level of discretion and integrity.
  • Confident with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willingness to travel to Lancaster once a week.

  • Experience in the food, tech, or startup sector.
  • Previous experience supporting leadership in high-growth or innovative companies.
