Our client, an established organisation in North Yorkshire with a formal Board and Committee structure, is seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to support their senior leadership team on a temporary basis of up to three months. This role is ideal for a highly organised, proactive professional who is confident operating at Board and Executive level, produces excellent minutes and papers, and thrives in a fast paced environment. As a trusted right hand to senior leaders, you will keep diaries, meetings and governance cycles running smoothly so the leadership team can focus on the priorities that matter.

Executive Assistant

  • Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire
  • Salary: £18.00 to £20.00 per hour
  • Contract: Temporary, up to 3 months
  • Hybrid: 2 to 3 days in the Northallerton office, remainder from home
  • Hours: 37 hours per week, worked within core operating hours of 8:00am to 6:00pm

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive Executive Assistant support to Directors and the wider Executive Team, acting as a trusted first point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage extensive diaries and inboxes, prioritising competing demands and protecting time for the leadership team.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, committees and wider governance activity, including scheduling, logistics and the circulation of papers.
  • Produce accurate, high quality minutes for Board, Committee and leadership meetings, capturing decisions and actions clearly.
  • Prepare agendas, papers and presentations to a professional standard, ensuring all deadlines within the governance cycle are met.
  • Track follow up actions through to completion, chasing contributors where needed to keep meetings and projects on schedule.

Person Specification

  • Proven Executive Assistant experience at Director, Executive Team or Board level.
  • Significant experience minuting Board and Committee meetings.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including working closely with senior leaders.
  • Excellent written communication and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Highly organised, with strong planning and coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • High levels of professionalism, confidentiality and discretion.
  • Resilient, proactive and tenacious, with the confidence to challenge, prioritise and manage competing demands.
  • A track record of being a dependable and trusted EA.
  • Available to start at the earliest opportunity.
