Our client, a leading business with £40 billion assets managed, is seeking a highly capable, commercially astute Executive Assistant / Business Manager to support a senior leader within a leading financial services organisation. This is a pivotal role that combines traditional executive support with strategic business management, requiring exceptional organisational ability, discretion and business acumen.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor and operational partner, enabling the executive to focus on strategic priorities while ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day activities and key business initiatives. Our client may look at developing this role into a Chief of Staff opportunity.

Job Title: Executive Assistant / Business Partner

Location: London (3 days in the office 2 WFH)

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

Sector: Financial Services

Salary: Up to £100k depending on role scope

Key Responsibilities

Executive Support

  • Provide proactive, high-level administrative support including complex diary management, travel coordination and meeting preparation.
  • Act as a gatekeeper, managing communications and prioritising competing demands.
  • Prepare briefing materials, presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handle confidential information with absolute discretion.

Business Management

  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives and business objectives
  • Track key deliverables, ensuring accountability and timely progress across teams.
  • Assist in budget management, financial tracking and reporting.
  • Identify operational efficiencies and drive process improvements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams, clients and external partners.
  • Act as a liaison across departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
  • Represent the executive in meetings where appropriate.

Project & Operations Support

  • Lead or coordinate cross-functional projects and business initiatives.
  • Prepare and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Support governance activities, including board and committee reporting.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant, Chief of Staff or Business Manager within financial services or a similarly fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of financial markets and industry dynamics.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Advanced communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate with discretion, professionalism, and sound judgement.
