A unique opportunity has arisen for a dynamic Chief of Staff to partner closely with an influential CEO in Tamworth, Birmingham.

This is a brand-new, permanent role offering the perfect blend of strategic leadership and operational excellence. From aligning executive teams to spearheading key projects, you'll be at the forefront of driving the organisation to new heights.

Candidates must have previous experience as a Chief of Staff or demonstrable equivalent experience in a strategic EA role to be considered. The ideal individual will thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at stakeholder management, and possess a keen eye for efficiency and detail.

This is a hybrid position, with typically two days per week based in the office in Tamworth (usually a Tuesday and Wednesday, but flexibility required), and the rest from home.

This role will include working closely with the CEO on the execution of the vision and strategy, ensuring action plans are in place to deliver initiatives, monitor progress, and mitigate risks. In addition to this, you will also support the alignment of the Executive and Senior leadership team, driving discussions and enabling clarity of priorities and goals.

Duties will include:

  • Executive Team Development: Creating a programme for a high-performing Executive team.
  • Strategy Delivery: Ensuring clarity on the organisation’s vision, strategy, and priorities. Holding teams accountable, removing barriers, and monitoring progress.
  • Communication Strategy: Executing an internal communication programme for clarity and alignment. Developing events for regular interactions across all levels.
  • Efficiency: Leading in delivering CEO's and collective Executive's strategy. Driving continual improvement in ways of working.
  • Project Leadership: Leading key projects under CEO sponsorship.
  • Stakeholder Management: Building coalitions, influencing, and resolving complex problems with stakeholders.
  • Line Management: Overseeing EA to manage the CEO's time and energy.
  • Advisor: Providing objective advice, feedback, and counsel to the CEO.

Person Specification:

  • Communication and Influencing Skills: Structured, concise communication. Ability to flex style and persuade in conflict.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build coalitions and overcome conflicting directions.
  • Work at Pace: Self-starter mentality, work with ambiguity and support others.
  • Analytical: Interpret and communicate data, and assess opportunities and risks.
  • Business Acumen: Significant commercial experience.
  • Organised and Efficient: Manage multiple tasks and priorities with changing urgency.
  • Desired Experience: Project management experience.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Chief of Staff role, or the ability to demonstrate experience of operating at an equivalent level within an EA role.
  • Candidates must live within an hour's commute of Tamworth.
  • Flexibility for occasional UK travel.
