Learning and Development Director – Central London | Salary: Up to £85,000
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an L&D Director to join a reputable global organisation on a permanent basis during an exciting period of growth and transformation. This is a full-time role based in Central London, near Knightsbridge/Chelsea.
As part of their five-year strategic plan, my client is seeking a dynamic and visionary Learning and Development Director to join their small HR function. This is a brand-new role that offers significant autonomy, allowing the successful candidate to shape the learning and development function.
As the Learning and Development Director, you will play a critical role in driving the organisation's learning and talent development strategy. Working closely with senior leadership, you will have the opportunity to build and implement programmes that foster employee growth, enhance organisational capabilities, and support their global workforce. Duties Will Include:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive learning and development strategy aligned with the organisation's goals and objectives, covering both hard and soft skills.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable learning initiatives.
- Provide thought leadership on emerging trends and best practices in learning and development.
Programme Development and Implementation:
- Design, implement, and evaluate learning programmes that address critical skill gaps and support career development.
- Work on L&D focused projects, including setting up a training academy, modular-based learning matrix, and setting out clear career pathways.
- Introduce innovative approaches, including digital learning solutions, to enhance the effectiveness of training initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and knowledge-sharing throughout the organisation.
Global Collaboration:
- Partner with regional and departmental leaders to ensure the consistency and relevance of learning programs across diverse teams and geographies.
- Leverage technology to facilitate virtual learning experiences, ensuring accessibility for a global workforce.
Performance Measurement:
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact and effectiveness of learning initiatives.
- Regularly assess and report on the success of programmes, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
Talent Management Integration:
- Collaborate with HR and talent acquisition teams to integrate learning and development initiatives with talent management strategies.
- Identify and nurture high-potential talent through targeted development programmes/training academy.
Person Specification:
- Previous and progressive experience in learning and development roles, with a proven track record of success.
- Experience working in a global organisation, understanding the nuances of diverse cultures and regions preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organisational levels.
- Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), e-learning platforms, and other educational technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to change and thrive in a dynamic, evolving business environment.

Salary:
Competitive salary of up to £85,000 per annum (DOE) plus benefits package.
