Executive Assistant to High-Profile Politician – Sheffield – £45,000 per annum (DOE) – 6 Month Contract

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled and motivated Executive Assistant to support a high-profile politician, based in Sheffield. This role is an exciting opportunity for a top-tier Executive Assistant to provide exceptional support in both the professional and personal life of the Principal. The role will initially be a 6-month contract with the potential to transition into a permanent position.

As the Executive Assistant to the Principal, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that the Principal is well-prepared and equipped to excel in their demanding role. This is a dynamic, fast-paced position that requires a proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively, and remain calm under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calendar and Schedule Management: Organise and manage the Principal's appointments, meetings, and commitments, ensuring punctuality and preparedness. This includes compiling materials, agendas, and other necessary documents for meetings.
  • Communication Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for the Principal, handling all forms of communication with professionalism and discretion. You will liaise with high-profile stakeholders including MPs, local leaders, and government officials.
  • Travel Coordination: Arrange travel itineraries, accommodation, and logistics for both business and personal trips, including national and international travel.
  • Document and Data Management: Maintain organised records, files, and documents, ensuring confidentiality is upheld. Assist with research, data analysis, and preparation of reports.
  • Event Planning: Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of events, meetings, and special projects as needed.
  • Personal Support: Provide support for personal errands and tasks as requested, ensuring a balanced workload for the Principal.
  • Problem-Solving: Proactively address and resolve any issues that may arise, demonstrating resourcefulness and quick thinking.
  • Confidentiality: Handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

Person Specification:

  • Proven experience as an Executive Assistant or in a similar support role at Board/CEO level.
  • Exceptional organisational skills and ability to multitask effectively, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with the ability to handle last-minute changes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with high-profile stakeholders.
  • Professional, confident, and well-presented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with the ability to manage a busy and complex diary.
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and demands.
  • High levels of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive matters.
  • Flexibility to provide out-of-hours support when required (evenings/weekends).

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary up to £45,000 per annum (DOE).
  • 6-month contract with the potential for extension or permanent transition depending on the needs of the organisation.
