Job Title: Part-Time HR Assistant | Location: Worsley | Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (20 hours per week) | Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum (full-time equivalent) plus benefits

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a part-time HR Assistant to join a growing organisation based in Worsley on a permanent basis.

This is a varied and autonomous generalist role for 20 hours per week. There is flexibility with regards to hours, but ideally, they will be spread across 3 or 4 days per week. This is a hybrid role.

Duties will include:

Employee Records Management:

  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Organise and manage employee files, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.

Recruitment:

  • Assist in the recruitment process by scheduling interviews, coordinating candidate communications, and facilitating onboarding.
  • Post job openings on various job boards and company websites.
  • Facilitate the offboarding process.

People Administration:

  • Assist and manage enrolling employees onto the benefits platform.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, policies, and procedures.

Leave Management:

  • Administer employee leave, including sick leave and annual leave, in compliance with policies and regulations.

Employee Relations Work:

  • Manage disciplinaries, grievances, TUPE, redundancy.
  • Undertake general employee relations case administration and tracking, including collation and production of documents to support investigations, processing letters, and taking meeting notes in accordance with legal requirements and HR best practices.
  • Provide first-line guidance to managers and employees about employee relations, processes, and procedures.
  • Liaise with managers and external employment lawyers.

Payroll Assistance:

  • Compute and process payroll accurately and timely.
  • Verify and record attendance, hours worked, overtime, and other payroll data.
  • Administer employee benefits related to payroll, such as insurance, contributions, and other deductions.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries for employees.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, regulations (GDPR), and best practices.

Training and Development Administration:

  • Coordinate employee appraisals.
  • Maintain accurate employee training records.

Policy and Procedure Compliance:

  • Assist in the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Help ensure compliance with laws and regulations.

Communication:

  • Draft HR-related communications, letters, and announcements for employees and management.
  • Liaise and be the internal point of contact for HR consultants/legal advisors.

Person Specification:

  • 2+ years of proven work experience in an HR/Payroll administrative role.
  • CIPD qualified (desirable).
  • Knowledge of HR processes, procedures, and employment laws.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HR/Payroll software.
