HR Business Partner
Location: Gloucester & Multi-site (with travel)

Our client is a recently merged, ambitious group that became a market leader in early 2025 in their sector, across service and distribution. With strong foundations and entrepreneurial energy, they are now focused on driving growth to reach £200m turnover by the end of 2028. Central to this goal is creating a truly great place to work.
They now seek a commercially astute HR Business Partner to join the HR team at a formative stage and help shape the People Strategy for a dynamic, multi-site business.
The HR Business Partner will work closely with leaders and managers across the business to deliver pragmatic and proactive HR support. Based in Gloucester, the role includes regular travel to other sites to support managers and employees, contributing to the development of engaged, skilled, and high-performing teams.
You will be responsible for delivering the full spectrum of generalist HR activity, with a particular focus on employee engagement, organisational design, succession planning, and learning and development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support managers with performance management and the development of high-performing teams
- Provide coaching and guidance on team development, including working with external training providers
- Lead on talent and succession planning initiatives using workforce planning principles
- Advise on company benefits and remuneration
- Identify best practice and deliver HR projects that support business goals
- Provide training and coaching to managers on people processes and legislation
- Produce and analyse weekly/monthly HR reports, highlighting key trends and insights
- Support culture development through mentoring and encouraging best practice
- Manage contractual changes, including changes to pay and terms
- Oversee the leaver process, including documentation, payroll coordination, exit interviews, and reporting
- Maintain up-to-date employee records, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements
- Work with managers to maintain accurate job descriptions and organisational charts
- Manage recruitment processes and agency relationships, including onboarding new starters
- Prepare contracts, perform right to work and reference checks, and set up new hire documentation
- Ensure new starters have a clear onboarding plan and are enrolled in relevant benefits
About You:
You’ll be a confident, collaborative HR professional who thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment. You’ll be able to influence at all levels and provide pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
Essential:
- CIPD qualified
- Broad generalist HR experience across the full employee lifecycle
- Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations
- Experience supporting managers in multi-site or operational environments
Desirable:
- HRM degree or coaching qualification
- Experience of leading or contributing to strategic HR projects
