Practice Assistant – 1 Year FTC
Location: City of London
Salary: £35,000–£42,000 per annum (DOE)
A brilliant opportunity has arisen for a Practice Assistant to join a leading law firm on a 1-year Fixed Term Contract basis.
This role is ideal for someone with Partner-level experience, ideally within Family Law, who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll gain exposure working within a highly reputable company, well known in their sector.
We are looking for candidates who are either immediately available or coming to the end of their current contract.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing full, proactive, and advanced calendar management for assigned team members, including scheduling calls/meetings and ensuring all necessary materials are prepared in advance.
- Acting as the first point of contact for your department, managing calls, emails, correspondence, and meeting requests from internal and external clients.
- Supporting the invoices process, seeking authorisations, and liaising with Accounts to ensure prompt payments.
- Monitoring and addressing unpaid bills and liaising with Accounts as required.
- Organising business breakfasts, dinners, and smaller events, as well as assisting fee earners with expenses.
- Supporting the team with the smooth running of the client/matter lifecycle, including working closely with client onboarding and compliance specialists to ensure all necessary information/documentation is collected and stored correctly.
Skills and Experience Required:
- 2–3 years of relevant PA/Administrative experience in the Legal or Professional Services sector.
- Experience with specialised systems and general IT technologies is advantageous.
- Highly organised and methodical with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Advanced IT skills in Word and Excel, with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proactive with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to take initiative.
- Strong teamwork skills with a willingness and desire to learn.
