A unique opportunity has arisen to join a prestigious law firm in the heart of London as a Practice Assistant. This role is ideal for an ambitious and proactive individual who is eager to advance their career within the legal sector. You will provide integral administrative and coordination support to a Partner and contribute to a high-performing, fee-earning environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact while building strong relationships internally and externally, collaborating closely with the wider administrative team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diary and Inbox Management: Proactively managing schedules, coordinating meetings, preparing agendas and documentation, and ensuring action points are completed.
  • Communication Management: Acting as the primary point of contact for the Partner and fee-earners, handling correspondence with professionalism and discretion.
  • Project and Programme Support: Assisting the Partner and Business Development team in planning and delivering special programmes and projects, including event and meeting coordination.
  • Document Preparation: Drafting, proofreading, and formatting complex documents, reports, pitches, presentations, and articles.
  • Compliance and Filing: Ensuring efficient archiving and filing in line with firm protocols.
  • Collaboration: Supporting the wider administrative team and stepping in to cover other Practice Assistants when required.
  • Travel Arrangements: Coordinating travel itineraries and related logistics for the Partner and fee-earners.

Person Specification

  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years in an administrative role, ideally within the legal or professional services sector.
  • Tech Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Diary and Information Management: Proven ability to manage complex diaries, resolve scheduling conflicts, and handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with the confidence to build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Organisation and Time Management: Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive and Solution-Oriented: A self-starter with a willingness to take ownership and find solutions independently.
